PREPARE FOR THE FAIR 24/7

Ready Day 1 Career Fair immerses students in engaging, intensive video simulations that allow them to prepare and train for a career fair interaction at a company that he or she is interested in pursuing.

They are prompted to provide their video responses to micro-interactions focused on improving their preparation, open, elevator pitch, and close using any internet connected device with a camera such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

RELEVANT LEARNING THAT EMPLOYERS DESIRE

The program encompasses insights from industry leading HR subject matter experts and college professors to deliver content that is vital to performing well with employers on the day of the career fair.

 

Students are coached using instructional videos on what to look for when researching a company’s website, how to deliver a strong opening, deliver a concise elevator pitch that shows you did your homework, and ending with a memorable close.

SELF-GUIDED OR INSTRUCTOR-LED

Ready Day 1 Career Fair is equally comfortable in the classroom, as guided learning in the career center, or self-guided wherever there is a student and smartphone.

 

Professors have used Ready Day 1 as part of their classes to prepare students for upcoming career fairs. Students are provided detailed feedback reports, including suggestions for improvements. The instructor is provided a complete learning guide with PowerPoints, speaking points, students’ video responses and summary of the classroom data.  

 

In the career center, Ready Day 1 can be used as the basis of a one-on-one session or students can conveniently take it on their own time, 24/7 using our self-guided learning process.

There are many career fair training programs that present what to do at a career fair, but the skills themselves can be a challenge for students to develop if proven adult learning strategies aren’t embedded into training.

 

Our underlying technology is built on a strong foundation of science and proven learning theory, including active learning, modeling, micro-learning, and self-reflection.

I really found the Javelin module useful, especially in regards to the openings and closings of the elevator pitch.  It was extremely useful to have a video example of good elevator pitch.  Seeing the good and bad examples allowed me to tailor my pitch and identify its strengths and weaknesses. 

 

I also found it valuable to practice talking in front of a video camera instead of face-to-face.  Most of my job interview and elevator pitch experience has been face-to-face, it was nice to practice presenting without another person in the room.
